Pit Sump Water Treatment Plant Preliminary Design

Pit Sump Water Treatment Plant Preliminary Design

McCue completed the Preliminary Design of a pit sump water treatment plant for total suspended solids (TSS) and metals at rates up to 4,500 GPM to support the Environmental Assessment (EA) for a mine project located in northern British Columbia, Canada. The design report included preliminary descriptions of the system operational requirements, the monitoring plan and emergency response plan. McCue is currently completing bench scale tests using synthetic water created in our lab to validate the proposed chemical treatment process.

McCue also completed an active water treatment options evaluation for mine affected water post mine closure, and developed conceptual water treatment plans for both the closure and post closure periods to support the EA. The evaluation and conceptual design work were completed to respond to questions raised in the EA review by the project stakeholders, including Provincial Agencies and First Nations.
