Job Description

McCue is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (EIT) – Solidworks Drafter (Full-time, Permanent)
Direct Supervisor: This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering.

Your responsibilities will include:

Mechanical Design:

• Perform detailed mechanical layout designs of water treatment systems with equipment selection support from senior process engineers.

• Develop 2D and 3D fabrication drawings outlining plan, profile, and section views of piping and equipment assemblies using AutoCAD and Solidworks.

• Assist process engineers in the selection of mechanical equipment such as pumps and valves.

• Develop or complete first review of preliminary and detailed design drawings and/or work.

• Prepare material quantity take-offs and direct the procurement of supplies, materials, and subcontractors.

• Support production work and liaise with the manufacturing team.

• Perform inspection or field reviews of manufacturing work and ensure that work complies with design requirements.

• Involve/update senior managers on project progress.

Other:

• Prioritize work in consultation with management.

• Make recommendations for operational changes/improvements.

• Communication with directors, management, engineers, trades, clients, and subcontractors will be a critical part of this position.

• Follow all corporate policies.

• Promote corporate values at all times.

Qualifications

In addition to a valid driver’s license, applicants should have the following experience and/or qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma in CAD

• 1+ years of mechanical engineering and drafting experience

• SolidWorks experience is required

• Health and safety focus

Preference will be given to those with previous experience designing containerized water treatment systems. Emergency Level 1 First Aid certification will also be an asset.

Drug testing may be required to access some project sites.
