July 2006 – Innovation Magazine Project/Product Pictorial Edition
A photograph of Soil Vapour Extraction (SVE) piping manifolds designed, built, and photographed by Chris McCue of McCue Environmental Contracting Inc. was featured in the “Project/Product Pictorial” in the July/August 2006 edition of Innovation Magazine. Innovation Magazine is the official publication of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, and is circulated to over 22,000 BC-registered professional engineers and geoscientists as well as other professionals, industry and government representatives, educational institutions and the general public.

October 2005 – McEC Remediation Services at RemTech 2005
URS Corporation presented a paper describing the construction and operation of a Soil Vapour Extraction / Air Sparge (SVE/AS) system installed by McCue Environmental Contracting Inc. in Surrey, BC at the ESAA Remediation Technologies Symposium (RemTech 2005) in Banff, Alberta. The paper was entitled “Successful LNAPL Removal Using Air Sparge/Soil Vapour Extraction Technology” http://www.remtech2005.com/review/smithard.pdf .

McEC was retained by URS Corporation to design and install a piping network comprising of 35 SVE points and 20 sparge points and spanning three properties, a municipal utility corridor and across a major roadway. Onsite wells were connected to sparge and SVE units via twin 2” and 6” PVC headers, however future road construction made it necessary to bury offsite wells creating the necessity to build manifolds for both SVE and sparge points. The manifolds and header piping were connected to automated valves that functioned with timers to permit pulsed operation of specific areas of the site.
